Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata is to be conferred the first Assam Baibhav Award.

The Assam government is going to bestow the first Assam Baibhav award to the Tata Group chairman.

This was announced by Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today.

The Chief Minister took to Twitter and wrote, “Delighted to announce that the Government of Assam has decided to confer its highest civilian award, Assam Baibhav, to@RNTata2000Chairman, @tatatrusts for his exceptional contribution towards furthering cancer care in Assam.”

CM Sarma said that the first Assam Baibhav award, which is to be the highest civilian award by the Assam government will be given to the prolific industrialist probably by next year.

The Assam Baibhav award will be given to people who have made significant contributions to the well-being of the people of Assam.

CM Sarma further stated that the award will be given to unsung heroes who have done their work selflessly.

Ratan Tata has been making silent contributions to the improvement of the health sector and hospitals in the region which has made a huge difference to the hospital infrastructure in Assam, CM Sarma added.
