Republican Party of India (RPI) President and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has extended his open support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.

The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, who arrived in Manipur capital Imphal earlier today for a two-day visit to the state, said that his party RPI will support the BJP in the upcoming Assam assembly elections and that he will talk to the BJP leadership for seat sharing in Assam.

Addressing a public meeting organised by the party state unit at Moirang Purel in Imphal West, Athawale said that his party will field its candidate for the 2022 Manipur Assembly elections from the Keisamthong constituency.

Furthermore, the Union Minster is also scheduled to meet Governor Najma Heptulla and Chief Minister N Biren Singh, besides other top officials during his stay in Manipur.
