Assam: Abducted APPL Workers In Dima Hasao Released After 10 Days

The duo were kidnapped by the armed group from Nianglo Lungria area in Dima Hasao on July 26.

The two workers of the construction company- Anusha Project Private Limited (APPL) in Dima Hasao district of Assam who were allegedly kidnapped by an armed group were released on Sunday after almost 10 days.

As per inputs, the armed groups released Iqbal Laskar and Abdul Kadir following negotiation with student organisations at the Assam, Nagaland and Manipur tri-junction.

The duo are now being brought to Haflong for a necessary medical check-up.

Abdul Kadir, hails from Ashimganj in Karimganj district and Iqbal Laskar is a resident of Shabad village under Hailakandi district.

The duo were kidnapped by the armed group from Nianglo Lungria area in Dima Hasao on July 26.

The APPL is currently engaged in the construction of the Mahur-Tamenlong road, a NHIDCL road expansion project. APPL has been working on the 60-kilometer stretch to convert it into a 2-lane road.
