In an unfortunate incident, a woman died following a boat accident at the Panimur Waterfalls, a tourist spot in Assam.
The deceased has been identified as a 26-year-old woman named Konika Langthasa. Konika along with four of her friends was enjoying a boat ride at the waterfall site on the occasion of Bhogali Bihu.
As per reports, the boat crashed onto a large underwater rock and broke into three parts. While four others on the ill-fated boat were rescued, Konika drowned in the accident.
Locals along with the police rescued the four people travelling on the boat. Meanwhile, the body of the drowned victim was also recovered.
