Two gold medals for India in the Asian Games in Jakarta on the penultimate day.

India remains at 8th position in the gold medal standings. The medal tally as of now stands at 69 with 15 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze medals.

The latest was won by Pranab Bardhan and Shib nath Sarkar in the men’s Pair bridge event pocketing India’s 15th gold in the event.

60 year old Pranab and 56 year old Shibnath looked right on the money in both rounds of the final winning the card game event almost untested.

Earlier in the day, Amit Panghal won a surprise gold medal in the men’s 49kg Light Fly boxing event by beating Olympic Champion Hasanboy Dusmatov.
