Acclaimed Arunachali artist Jackie Bodo’s impactful painting on deforestation has been sold to young entrepreneur Tana Susen Tara (Zain) from Doimukh. Deeply moved by the painting’s powerful message, Tara acquired the artwork as a gesture of support for the artist community, recognizing its significant role in raising awareness about environmental issues.
Jackie Bodo Mangrang, who is the President of the Arunachal Akademi of Fine Arts (AAFA), had represented Arunachal Pradesh at a prestigious national-level painting workshop organized by the Indian School of Business (ISB) at Mohali, Punjab. The seven-day workshop, held from February 9 to 15, 2025, brought together visionary artists from across India, fostering artistic collaboration and creativity.

Bodo has previously represented Arunachal Pradesh on a national platform as well. In 2019, he had participated at a national-level workshop organized by IIT Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
Hailing from Bodo Village, Sawa Circle, under Chayangtajo in East Kameng District, Bodo completed his Master of Fine Arts from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya University, Chhattisgarh, in 2017. He remains dedicated to his craft and continues to lead the Arunachal Akademi of Fine Arts, an institution established in 1994.
Through his artistic endeavors and growing national recognition, Jackie Bodo Mangrang continues to elevate the artistic landscape of Arunachal Pradesh, bringing its creative spirit to the forefront of India’s art scene.
During a conversation Jackie stated, “Painting is not simply a painting; it is an amalgamation of colours, storytelling, emotions, historical context, profound meaning, creativity, narrative, skills, awareness, decorative aspects, imagination, and surpassing the level of comprehension. As an artistic medium, it educates, evokes excitement and passion, and transports individuals to diverse realms through the artist’s work.”
