The Anti-Corruption Forum (ICR unit) has informed that the Education Department will seek information from such schools within a week

The Arunachal Pradesh government is ready to crack the whip against errant private school authorities who are running their respective educational institutes without proper documents.
The Anti-Corruption Forum (ICR unit) which exposed the matter, said that the Education Department has assured the group of issuing show cause notice to such schools within a week.
The government’s prompt action comes just 3 days after the ACF raised the issue with the Director of Elementary Education in Itanagar, and alleged that at least 37 schools were operating illegally.
Briefing the media, the ACF leadership said, “We had given representation to the Director of Education and Director of Elementary Education on May 9, today we had come to see that till which level our representations have reached. We met the Nodal Officer of the Director of School Education and we met officials of the Directorate of Elementary Education also. The Joint Director of Elementary Education has informed us that within 1 week, who are functioning illegally will be served showcause notices by the department.”
The ACF leadership further stated that the organisation has no personal issues with any of the schools who they have found to be functionning illegally.
“We have nothing to do against any individual or Principal. We are only against the system, we are against those who are running schools illegally. Every school need to have a recognition of the government. When our students will pass out from schools which do not have recognition, than what will be the consequence, one can easily imagine.”
In a letter addressed to Director of Elementary Education in Itanagar, Marken Kadu, the Anti-Corruption Foundation’s Itanagar unit said that these 37 unrecognized private schools are illegally functioning without any government registration or the recommendation letter from the government to run new schools, which is a violation of rules set forth by the government and this may be interpreted as a major criminal offence and an act of corruption.
The schools also did not have No Objection Certificates (NOCs), Land Possession Certificates (LPCs) or lease agreements, fire safety certifications, and CCTV installation approvals, the letter said.
