Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday inspected the ongoing 2 km long Sela Tunnel project constructed by the Border Roads Organisation.
Witnessing the work in progress, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the project will be completed by the end of 2021.
At a cost of Rs. 687 crore, the project involves construction of a road for a total distance of 12.04 km which consists of two tunnels of 1,790 and 475 meters.
The Sela tunnel will provide all-weather connectivity and also reduce the travelling time from Tezpur to Tawang by more than one hour. The project will also aid travellers in bypassing the dangerous snow-covered Sela top at a height of 13,700 feet.
