Arunachal: ATDSU lodges FIR against BTI Director for derogatory remarks against Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama is likely to visit the state in October this year, as per Arunachal Chief minister

The All Tawang District Students’ Union has lodged an FIR against the director of Buddhist Tibetan Scheme, Niraj Kumar for his alleged derogatory remarks and for defaming His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The Union has made an appeal to the Government of Aruanchal Pradesh to cancel Niraj Kumar’s scheduled visit to Tawang for his derogatory remarks on social media.
Tsering Tashi, General Secretary All Tawang District Students’ Union questioned the attitude of Niraj Kumar who is responsible for Buddhist affairs for the Government of India.
The student union has also threatened to launch agitations if Kumar visits Tawang and appealed to the public for his boycott.
Dalai Lama is likely to visit the state in October this year, as per Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
Earlier, CM Khandu had chaired a review meeting to review the preparations at Tawang ahead of the visit of His Holiness. This will be the Dalai Lama’s 8th visit to the state.
In April in 2017 Dalai Lama was on a 12-day visit to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. His visit was opposed by China.
