The Assam Public Works (APW) has filed a case with the CBI against former National Register of Citizens’ (NRC) Coordinator, Prateek Hajela alleging huge misappropriation of government funds.
APW President Abhijit Sarma alleged that Hajela along with WIPRO authorities had swindled over Rs 34.70 crore in the name of installing software for facilitating the NRC process. The APW President alleged that no such softwares were installed.
It may be mentioned that this is the 6th case filed against the former NRC co-ordinator by the APW.
Abhijit Sarma said that the software installation scam is a part of the Rs 252 crore misappropriation of funds for the NRC updation process.
