APPSC Paper Leak Case: SIC arrests 3 more persons, total 37 arrested so far

The Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh Police today arrested three more persons for their alleged involvement in the paper leakage in AE Civil Mains exam 2022, conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). Two among them are government officials.
The arrested persons are –Hanggung Yaying (52), Matin Yaying(27), and Obur Jerang (28). They all hail from Siang district of the state.
Matin Yaying is a Horticulture Development Officer (HDO), Pakke Kessang district while Obur Jerang is a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT), HSS, Koyu circle of East Siang district.
With these three arrests,a total of 37 people have been arrested in connection with the paper laek case so far.
The All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) on December 27 ovserved 12-hour shutdown in Itanagar capital complex areas against anomalies in the APPSC. The shutdown passed off peacefully. No violent incidents were reported during the shutdown.
However, the students’ groups have warned of further intensifying their agitation if the government fails to deliver justice and book all the perpetrators who are behind the scam.
On the other hand, a day before the bandh, Arunachal Pradesh government said that the government will not tolerate any “act of insanity” and that no one will be spared if found involved in the alleged APPSC paper leak scam.
Each and every culprit will be handled with iron fist, said Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister, Bamang Felix.
Minister Bamang Felix said that the APPSC exam paper leak issue have been discussed in the cabinet meeting four times so far since the first case was registered by Capital Police on September 10 to investigate allegations of paper leakage on complaint by aspirant.
It may be mentioned that the AE (civil) question paper leak case has been handed over to the CBI.
The SIC is investigating all the other cases based on several FIRs filed by the aggrieved aspirants.
The SIC is investigating cases since 2014 related to the paper leak case.
