APCC president Bhupen Bora also accused AIUDF of working with BJP Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Bora has ruled out the possibility of any alliance with the AIUDF for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Bora said the All India Congress Committee (AICC) will prepare the strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls by strengthening their booth committees, reconstitute the blocks and district congress committees, and assign observers to work at the assembly constituency level.
Further, highlighting the failure of the ruling BJP government, Bora said “It is our moral duty to highlight the failure of the government, the tall promises which BJP has made during the last four elections, which they have not fulfilled. As our moral duty to expose their failure, which we are doing at the grassroots level.”

APCC president Bhupen Bora also accused AIUDF of working with BJP. Bora said, “There are political parties like AIUDF which are opposition only in name because they follow the direction of honorable Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
There are so many instances during the last assembly election also when we had to form Maha Jot along with AIUDF. But because of some wrong strategy, we fail to come into power. So we have now decided to dissolve Maha Jot and whatever the circumstances we will not go with the AIUDF as well as BJP because Congress believes in ‘Secularism’. ‘Secularism is the main backbone of Congress’.
BJP, RSS, and AIUDF are like the two sides of the same coin, and to protect democracy, to protect secularism we will not make any type of alliance with AIUDF, said Bora.
APCC President Bhupen Bora also questioned Chief Minister Dr. Sarma’s statement of the AIUDF receiving funds from foreign agencies linked with terror outfits.
Bora said “Just before assembly elections our honorable Chief Minister Sarma himself declared that
AIUDF has nexus with terror outfits, and the party received donations from terrorists the chief minister ordered an inquiry by NIA, but after that, what happened? Now NIA, ED, and CBI are entering every opposition leader’s house, but AIUDF is not opposition, they are ruling with BJP. So NIA is silent, CM is silent.”
Bora also asked why the AIUDF has declared Assam CM as the best chief minister. He claimed, it was so because the Chief Minister had written a letter to DGP and PCCF that AIUDF’s chief Badruddin’s business should be disturbed.
Speaking on the fate of AIUDF, he said “AIUDF will become part of history, while some leaders may survive but the party will not survive. People will not allow the party to survive. While being asked about the 2024 Lok Sabha elections Bora stated that effort should be made to strengthen the organisation in all 14 constituencies.
