AMSU holds rally demanding PRC for Moran Community in Arunachal

AMSU alleged that despite living in their own country they are being treated like refugees and are being deprived of their rights
The All Moran Students’ Union (AMSU), has once again pressed for Permanent Residence certificate (PRC) for people from the Moran community residing in Lekang in Arunachal’s Namsai district.
The students union and hundreds of people from the Moran community on Thursday carried out a rally organised by six bodies affiliated to the Moran community- All Moran Students Union, Moran Unnayan Parishad, Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad, and Moran Kala Sanskriti Vikash Kendra by at Namsai demanding PRC for the community.
The protestors also threatened to intensify stir if their demands are not met.
The student union alleged that despite living in their own country they are being treated like refugees and are being deprived of their rights.
Along with the demand for PRC, the student union also appealed to the Chief Minister of Assam to intervene in this matter and discuss it with Arunachal government.
Further, AMSU added that if necessary, the two communities will also form new political parties in Assam and Arunachal.
At the end of the rally, the AMSU submitted a memorandum to the additional commissioner of the Lekang administrative circle.
