Amit Shah wants Assam-Arunachal border dispute resolved within a year

Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah wants the dispute resolved this year.

Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are working on a war footing to resolve the inter-state border dispute this year.

Talking to media persons on the sidelines of an event in Itanagar, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah wants the dispute resolved this year.

Khandu reiterated that while the dispute was resolved in 37 villages, a consensus has been nearly reached in another 19 villages taking the total number of villages where the dispute is almost resolved to 56.

It may be mentioned that Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Arunachal CM Pema Khandu on the border issue in New Delhi on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Khandu also informed that he has invited PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi in October.
