Union Home Minister Amit Shah today made a big promise in the poll-bound state, the promise to bring in permanent peace.
At his mega rally in Churachandpur today Shah affirmed that if the BJP gets another 5 years, it will ensure all the Kuki groups join the mainstream.
This is by far the BJP’s biggest promise to bring complete normalcy in the areas under AFSPA in Manipur.
Driving his point home, Shah gave the example of BTR and hill districts of Assam where all the groups have shunned the path of violence and joined the mainstream.
Shah exuded confidence that through proper dialogue initiated by the government, Kuki youths will give up armed rebellion and embrace peace.
Campaigning for party candidate V Hangkhanlian in Churachandpur, Shah also lambasted the Congress for alleged misrule during its 15-years regime. Shah denoted the Congress rule with3 I’s which stands for Instability, Insurgency and inequality. Shah countered the Congress’ 3 I’s with BJP’s Innovation, infrastructure, integration.
And at a time when the Congress is targeting BJP over the drug menace and AFSPA in Manipur, HM Shah blamed the Congress for doing nothing to contain illegal drug trade and insurgency.
