Aminul Islam, Bhuban Baruah join NPP in Guwahati

Former Congress MLA from 21 Mankachar legislative assembly, Aminul Islam has joined the Conrad Sangma-led National People’s Party (NP{P) on Saturday.

Another former MLA from Asom Gana Parishad, Bhuban Baruah has also joined the NPP. Baruah, who represented Chabua was a minister in Prafulla Kumar Mahanta’s cabinet. He had won the Chabua assembly constituency in 1985.

Both the politicians were welcomed  in the party by NPP Vice President, Incharge, Assam Unit Biswajit Baruah and Jodumoni Boro, National Youth Secretary, NPP and General Secretary (Assam) Abul Hussain and Raj Prasad Saikia, State Secretary, (Head Media and Publicity)

According to sources both the political leaders are likely to contest from NPP in the Assam assembly elections. The NPP is planning to field its candidates in bordering areas of Assam where there is sizeable support base for the party.
