Amid Durga puja celebrations, one killed, 3 injured in multiple road accidents in Assam

Amid the Durga puja celebrations in Assam, multiple road accidents took place late last night killing one on the spot and seriously injuring 3 others.

A biker was killed on the spot while two others were seriously injured when the trio was hit by an unidentified vehicle at National Highway 37 in Kaziranga.

The accident took place at around 2:30 AM today when the trio was returning home after pandal hopping.

The deceased has been identified as Mridul Karmakar.

While one of the injured is yet to be identified, the second injured has been identified as Niranjan Karnakar.

The two are currently undergoing treatment at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital and their situation is said to be critical.

Another road accident took place in Guwahati last night in Neelachalpur area near Barshapara, when a car collided with a scooter at high speed and dragged the scooter for about 50 meters.

The scooter driver who was seriously injured in the incident has been admitted to a hospital.

The police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the matter. During the investigation, Police seized ganja from the dashboard of the car.
