The AAPSU and its federal units, All East Siang District Students Union, All Siang District Students Union, All Upper Siang District Students Union are of the opinion that the recent flash flood and drying of the mighty Siang River have brought untold miseries to the people of the valley affecting the riverine eco-system which needs immediate attention by the government of India.
The AAPSU Federal Units condemned the denial mode of the Indian government, coming up with one or the other pretext and citing instances of natural calamities as the cause behind unusual behavior of River Siang.
They remarked that such behavior needs to be discarded and the central government should confront the Chinese government for a permanent solution.
The protesters also visited the office of the Deputy Commissioner and submitted a memorandum in this regard that has been addressed to the Union Home Minister.
