Amid the growing protest demanding the removal of the current Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) CEM, Rakesh Sangma, a big development is on the cards.
As per inputs, Siju MDC Albinush Marak will take over as the next GHADC CEM with Rakesh Sangma set to step down on Monday.
As per inputs, Albinush Marak has been selected for the CEM’s post after consensus between MDCs.
Earlier yesterday, massive protests erupted at Tura in Meghalaya’s West Garo hills demanding the ouster of CEM Rakesh Sangma.

Protesters rallied to the Chandmari playground and were seen waiting with black flags to greet Chief Minister Conrad Sangma prior to his arrival for inaugurating the sports facility.
Once the CM’s convoy arrived at the venue, the security in place had to clear the protesters to make way.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sangma had to face a similar situation during his visit to Ampati on Thursday.
The removal of Rakesh Sangma will come as a big setback for Chief Minister Conrad Sangma who had recently backed the appointment of Rakesh Sangma as the CEM stating that he has been democratically elected.
