The Chief Minister further said that the removal of the DA tag further showed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah regard the people of the Northeast, particularly those in Manipur, with love and respect.

It may be noted that, in addition to Manipur, the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to reduce the “disturbed areas” listed under the AFSPA in Nagaland and Assam as well.
