Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday felicitated Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inaugural session of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati.

Addressing the summit, which was attended by PM Modi, foreign delegates, and top industrial leaders, CM Sarma highlighted Assam’s transformation under the Prime Minister’s leadership. He stated that Assam, once one of the most disturbed states in India, has now become one of the most peaceful states, attributing this change to the governance of PM Modi since 2014.

“With the blessings of PM Modi, we first launched Advantage Assam on February 3-4, 2018. The Prime Minister has just announced a Greenfield Fertilizer Plant for us in the Union Budget, which will produce 12 lakh metric tonnes. After 2014, Assam was reborn,” Sarma said.

He further emphasised Assam’s growth in infrastructure and industry, stating that the state has witnessed a significant leap in development, competitive federalism, and industrial expansion. “The Prime Minister’s support has helped us expand NRL, and Tata’s semiconductor plant in Assam is also a result of his vision,” he added.

Assuring the best industrial environment, CM Sarma invited investors to explore opportunities in Assam. “Come and invest in this region,” he urged, emphasising that Assam is now a thriving hub for business and development.
