Despite promises of rapid progress and development, there are still several places in the frontier state where people are lacking even the most basic amenities.
Several villages in Arunachal are still languishing without proper road infrastructure, health care, and education, leaving residents to lead a primitive way of life.
Northeast Live has accessed exclusive visuals which paint a stark picture of the hardships faced by people in some of these villages.
Locals in Dibe village under Gensi circle in Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh have been left to fend for themselves and are devoid of any kind of basic amenities.
The villagers had to ferry a sick person by tying the body on a makeshift bamboo raft and negotiating through the neck-deep waters of a river to avail better treatment.
Not only this, but after reaching the other side of the river, the villagers had to carry the patient through an extremely treacherous and slippery rocky passage.
The villagers have to do every time a person in the village falls seriously ill and needs to be transported elsewhere for treatment.
According to the villagers, they have been repeatedly submitting applications to the authorities for redressal of their woes but to date, no action has been taken in this regard.
