A’chal: Foot-based search for missing mountaineers called off

The foot-based search has been called off due to excessive rain and inclement weather over the past few days.
The foot-based search and rescue operations jointly carried out by the East Kameng district administration and the Army to trace out missing Arunachal Pradesh mountaineer Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao were called off yesterday.
The search and rescue team has returned to Veo village, the last road point towards Mount Kyarisatam, and will head back to Seppa today.
The foot-based search has been called off due to excessive rain and inclement weather over the past few days.
East Kameng Deputy Commissioner Pravimal Abhishek Polumatla informed that if the weather is clear today then aerial search and rescue operations by the army choppers may resume.
It may be mentioned that the army has stationed 4 choppers – 2 Advanced Light Helicopters and 2 Cheetahs, to carry out the search and rescue operation at the request of the Arunachal Pradesh government.
