Top cricketers and sportspersons of the country have joined hands to contribute towards the flood-hit people of Assam and Bihar.

Led by Indian captain Virat Kohli, the top sportspersons of the country have auctioned part of their memorabilia to raise money for the marooned people of the two States.

Featuring in a video titled #WeAreTogetherForAssamAndBihar – the ace sports stars joined hands to extend a helping hand to the flood-hit people of the two States under an initiative of Cornerstone and The Aware Foundation.

Besides Virat Kohli, the other sports stars who featured in the video and contributed for the flood victims include cricketers KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Wriddhiman Saha, Harmanpreet Kaur – Indian women’s T20 captain – and multiple Grand Slam title winner tennis star Sania Mirza.

Incidentally, a host celebrities, including the Duck and Duchess of Cambridge – Prince William and Kate Middleton – had also expressed grief over the situation arising out of the deluge in Assam.

Virat Kohli and his actor wife Anushka Sharma had donated towards Assam and Bihar flood relief and asked people to do so too to help people battling the deluge in the two States. They have also urged fellow citizens to try and extend their help.
