In the midst of all the protests going on against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016, a team of such protesters from the All Assam Student Union got attacked during one such protest in Assam’s Hailakandi district.
The group of protestors had to face stone pelting from some miscreants while they were holding a protest. An AASU activist named Shahabuddin Laskar was critically injured during the incident. Laskar was admitted to a local hospital.
The local unit of AASU has submitted a complaint with the police regarding the matter. Sensation prevails in Hailakandi for now over the incident.
