The All Assam Students Union (AASU) along with 28 other organisations staged a massive protest in Dispur today.

Terming the proposed Citizenship Bill as a threat to the indigenous communities of the state, the organisations reiterated that no illegal immigrants from Bangladesh should be given shelter in Assam.

The AASU and 28 other organisations have been continually opposing the Centre’s move to pass the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
