The Aam Admi Party (AAP) today announced candidates for three seats in Assam for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The names were announced by AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak.

Manoj Dhanohar will contest from Dibrugarh, while Bhaven Chaudhary from Guwahati and Rishi Raj from Sonitpur.

Announcing the names, Sandeep Pathak hoped that the alliance (INDIA bloc) will allow them to contest from these constituencies.

Pathak reiterated AAP’s commitment for the INDIA bloc while emphasizing the need to get ready for the upcoming elections.

He also urged the alliance partners to expedite the negotiation process and shift focus towards campaign preparations.

Assam has a total of 14 Lok Sabha seats–Barpeta, Dhubri, Mangaldoi, Kaliabor, Autonomous District, Karimganj, Kokrajhar, Tezpur, Lakhimpur, Nowgong, Gauhati, Silchar, Dibrugarh and Jorhat.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the BJP has won a lion’s share of the 14 seats, winning nine seats. Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF secured one seat, while the Congress secured three seats.
