The Aam Aadmi Party has created history today after storming the elections in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party is all set to form the government in Punjab with a total of 92 seats in its kitty making it achieve absolute majority.

Congress on the other hand managed to grab victory in 16 seats, Shiromani Akali Dal has got six seats, while the BJP managed to win just two seats.

This is the first major victory of the AAP ever since they won in Delhi in 2015 for the first time after its formation. The AAP managed to broke the back of some of the major political stalwarts of the state be it former Chief Ministers Captain Amarinder Singh and Parkash Singh Badal, or the Congress stalwarts such as Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjyot Singh Sidhu.

Meanwhile, celebrations broke out among the AAP cadres in Punjab and elsewhere after the massive victory. AAP leaders hailed the victory as the will of the people.
