One more worker from Assam has been rescued in Arunachal Pradesh’s Kurung Kumey district today. The rescued worker has been identified as Ibrahim Ali. With this, the total number of rescued workers stand at eight.


Meanwhile, the Kurung Kumey district administration have airlifted five out of the remaining rescued workers from Assam due to deteriorating health. The five workers have been airlifted from Damin circle to the Tobo Rima Institute of Medical Sciences in Naharlagun.


Meanwhile, two other workers are being brought to Koloriang from Damin via road. This was informed by Kurung Kumey DC Nighee Bengia.


Also worth mentioning here is that as per the rescued workers, two of the missing workers had died in between with one falling in a river while another died in the jungle.

Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force has also halted the search and rescue operations by choppers for the day due to inclement weather. Throughout the day, the IAF carried out aerial surveys. A series of Mi-17 choppers and other IAF helicopters with high manoeuvrability engaged in the search operations. Additionally, temporary helipads have also been made for the choppers to land easily in the rough and uneven terrain, along with refuelling provisions.


It may be reminded here that eight of the total 19 missing workers have been found and rescued after nearly 3 weeks of futile search operations.While, 4 missing workers were rescued late last evening, 4 workers have been rescued today.
