There are 4 pairs of girls, 3 pairs of boys, and one fraternal pair.

Not one not two but 8 pairs of twins in one school! A movie-like scenario has unfolded in real life at the school in Mizoram leaving teachers and classmates confused.

In a remarkable display of genetic coincidence, 7 sets of identical twins and a pair of fraternal twins have enrolled in different classes at the Govt. College Veng Primary School in Aizawl for this academic year.

There are 4 pairs of girls, 3 pairs of boys, and one fraternal pair.

One fraternal pair, one pair of girls, and two pairs of boys have enrolled in KG1. One pair of boys has enrolled in KG2, while Class 1 has a pair of girls and another two pairs of girls in Class 2, said H. Lalventluanga, Headmaster of the school.

Notably, the fraternal twins are the headmaster’s children.

These twins are from three localities- College Veng, ITI and Salem Veng.

A photo of eight pairs of twins gracing its school has gone viral on social media.

H. Lalventluanga said that the school has had twins in the previous session of school, but a record-breaking eight pairs in a single year has never before happened.

“The teachers were having a discussion this morning, and much to our delight, we realised that we are having eight pairs of twins studying in various classes. Last year too, we had four pairs,” he added.

The headmaster also highlighted that besides their school, Govt. Rev. Thianga Primary School at Bethlehem locality has 4 pairs of twins enrolled in the school.
