8, including women, killed in vehicle-truck collision in Nagaland’s Tseminyu

Following the accident, seven died on the spot while one female passenger succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.

A deadly road accident took place in Nagaland where at least 8 persons have lost their lives on Wednesday morning.

As per inputs, a vehicle bound for Mokokchung from Kohima collided with a truck, following which both the vehicles fell into a deep gorge.

Seven people died on the spot while one female passenger succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.

The incident took place at Kandinu area, situated between Tseminyu and Wokha of Nagaland.

The truck driver has been arrested and is currently under Tseminyu police custody.

Visuals from the accident site show the vehicle being completely crushed due to the impact of the accident.

After receiving the information about the incident around 7:40 am, police along with the Traffic Inspector in-charge immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the vehicles.

As per inputs, the vehicle was carrying eight passengers—six females and two males including the driver. However, the identities of the deceased are yet to be known.

Upon receiving this information, the Wokha District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) dispatched a 13-member team consisting of Home Guards, Civil Defence personnel, and SDRF members from Wokha, equipped with cutters and other machinery for the retrieval of bodies.
