63 more have tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur, taking the total number of cases in the state to 272. Of these, 24 cases have been detected at Regional Institute
63 more have tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur, taking the total number of cases in the state to 272.
Of these, 24 cases have been detected at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), while 39 other samples tested positive at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).
The fresh cases include 34 cases from Bishnupur, 18 from Kakching, 3 from Kamjong, 2 from Uldtrul, 2 from Senapati, 2 from Imphal West, 1 from Kangpokpi and 1 from Noney.
All the new cases have travel history to other states in the country- a statement issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room said.
Earlier, 37 more people had tested positive for coronavirus in the state, taking the total number of cases to 209. All of them were returnees from Delhi, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, 6 positive patients were discharged today from RIMS after they were found negative on RT-PCR test. The total number of recovered cases is 58 so far.
The active cases in Manipur has now risen to 214. The positivity rate in the state is 1.52 per cent.
