6 teachers from Northeast conferred National Teachers’ Award 2023

Each award carries a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs 50,000/- and a silver medal

President Droupadi Murmu conferred the National Teachers’ Award 2023 to 75 exceptional educators today on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. Among the 75 educators, 6 are from Northeast.

President Droupadi Murmu given the awards to the educators in a programme held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Each award carries a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs 50,000/- and a silver medal.

The 6 teachers from Northeast who were conferred for the prestgious awrad are:

1.Netai Chandra Dey of Ramkrishna Mission School in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
2.Ningthoujam Binoy Singh of Chingmei Upper Primary School in Bishnupur district of Manipur.
3.Lalthianghlima of Diakkawn High School Kolasib, Mizoram.
4.Madhav Singh of Alpha English Higher Secondary School in Ri Bhoi, Meghalaya.
5.Kumud Kalita of Pathsala Senior Secondary School, Muguria, Bajali, Assam.
6.Dr Purna Bahadur Chettri, the Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Soreng in Sikkim.

This year’s distinguished recipients include 50 school teachers, 13 college teachers, and 12 educators from the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

These teachers were given the award for their outstanding contributions to education, which ranged from implementing innovative teaching methods in classrooms.
