Six people including a child have been killed after a live power cable transmitting 11 thousand volts of electricity snapped off and fell into a pond in Assam’ s Nagaon district.
The incident occurred when the victims had gone for fishing in the water body. According to reports, the locales disclosed that they had appraised the power department about the live wire falling loose in the area.
Subsequent to this, officials of the power department had disconnected transmission through the power cable but soon resumed transmission.
However, the victims who were caught unaware of this stepped into the pond leading to the appalling incident.
The deceased have been identified as – Rafiqul Islam, Jobor Ali, Mainul Islam, Habibur Rahman, Inamul Islam and Asiqul Islam.
