Continuing its war on drugs, the Assam police yet again made another massive seizure in Karbi Anglong on Monday.

Methamphetamine worth over Rs 12 crore weighing about 3 kilograms in international market was seized in Dilai gate after a vehicle was intercepted by a home guard. This disclosure was made by the Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta. The DGP also said that the traffickers tried to bribe the guard but he refused to take it.

As a result, over 3 kg of drugs in powder form was seized. Later in the evening, the DGP announced a cash reward of rupees 1 lakh for the police team with half of it going to the Home Guard.

He also added that two women hailing from Tamil Nadu have been arrested from the spot along with the driver who hails from Manipur.

It may be mentioned that the Assam police has registered over 1000 cases so far besides seizing huge quantity of contraband items including over 20 kg of heroin. DGP Mahanta revealed that the focus is to break the supply chain network.
