3 injured after Tripura BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee’s convoy on way to Ulto Rath festival meets with accident

The driver of the convoy car and two other security personnel were injured in the accident, however, Bhattacharjee escaped unhurt.

As many as 3 people were injured after Tripura BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee’s convoy met with an accident in Southern Tripura today.
Rajib Bhattacharjee was on his way to participate in the Ulto or Ulta Rath festival ( It marks the culmination of the Rath Yatra festival) at the Baikhora Jagannath Jiu Temple, when his convoy met with an accident near Patichhari forest drop gate area in southern Tripura.
The driver of the convoy car and two other security personnel were injured in the accident, however, Bhattacharjee escaped unhurt.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Further details regarding the condition of the injured and the cause of the accident are awaited.
Earlier, last year, at least 10 people including children and women were killed after a chariot of Lord Jagannath hit high-voltage power lines at Kumarghat in Tripura’s Unakoti district during an Ulta Rath Yatra.
