The number of positive cases in Tripura spiked to 64 after 22 people from BSF’s 138th Battalion at Ambassa tested positive on Wednesday.

Three children and a woman besides 18 men have tested positive for the deadly virus.

The state now has 62 active cases with the first two patients testing positive already discharged.

“22 persons from 138th-Bn at BSF camp in Ambassa found COVID19 positive today including 18 male, 1 female, 3 children. Don’t Panic, govt is working vigilantly,” Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted on Wednesday.

Earlier, two BSF personnel tested COVID-19 positive on Saturday and 12 more tested positive on Sunday. The state tally had reached 40 after 13 more tested positive on Tuesday.
