12-year-old madrasa student found dead with throat slit in Assam’s Cachar

Around 20 madrasa students, the classmates of deceased, have been detained for interrogation.

In a shocking incident, a 12-year-old Madrassa student was found dead in his hostel room under mysterious circumstances in Assam’s Cachar district on Sunday.

The incident took place in Frenchnagar village at Lailapur area under Dholai constituency.

The minor was found by a teacher lying on the floor in a pool of blood with his throat slit inside the madrasa hostel.

After receiving information about incident, Cachar SP along with police team reached the spot and launched an investigation.

Around 20 madrasa students, the classmates of deceased, have been detained for interrogation.

Meanwhile, the exact cause of the student’s death is yet to be ascertained. The body has been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

However, the incident has created a tensed atmosphere in the entire area.
