The operation, part of Assam’s ongoing efforts to secure its borders, received praise from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Security forces including Army and Assam Rifles have been deployed in Imphal to strengthen the security in the town area.
This coordinated effort began with intelligence-based operations from October 25 to November 4, focusing on the suspected ULFA (I) networks .
The operation resulted in the confiscation of approximately 1,140.58 grams of heroin, with an estimated value of Rs. 8 crore.
The incident occurred last Thursday, when two youths from Senapati district were reportedly attacked and robbed in Thoubal.
A team of district police promptly responded, taking the woman into their care and escorting her to safety.
These individuals were found to be involved in abduction and extortion activities.
A case has been registered, and the accused is currently under interrogation as the investigation continues.
The accused will be produced before a court in Mumbai today and the Manipur police will seek transit remand.
Police have stated that the weapons were seized to prevent potential conflicts in these areas, and further investigations are underway.
