Barsapara Crikect Stadium of Guwahati will always have a special connect, special place for ace India cricketer Virat Kohli. He slammed a century (113) at the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka at the Barsapara ground that smashed many records while creating new ones for the cricketing legend and for cricket as a whole. The Barsapra century is the former India captain’s 45th ODI ton and 73rd century in international cricket.
Kohli hit 10 fours and one six to create history before walking off the pavilion at 113 off 87 balls. He was caught by Ajantha Mendis to a ball by Kasun Rajitha at 48.2 overs with India at a formidable 364 on the scoreboard.
With this century, Kohli has equalled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 20 ODI tons at home. Tendulkar reached the landmark in 164 matches, Kohli did it in just 101 games.
