His unbeaten knock helped Rajasthan notch up a six-wicket victory in the away match.

In a heartwarming moment, Rajasthan Royals (RR) all-rounder Riyan Parag shared an emotional hug with his mother after clinching the Orange Cap following his second fifty in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Rajasthan Royals shared a video of a heartwarming meeting between Riyan Parag and his mother (Mithu Barua, a well known swimmer from Assam) after the Mumbai Indians vs RR clash in IPL 2024 where Ryan’s unbeaten knock helped Rajasthan notch up a six-wicket victory against Mumbai Indians.

In the video it can be seen that as soon as Parag arrived, she hugged him tightly and showered kisses on him. Beaming with pride, Parag’s mother took the Orange Cap out from from his kit bag and put it on Riyan’s head. That was a moment of pure happiness that she wanted to enjoy, and Parag obliged with the same.

On Monday, Parag struck 54 runs off 39 balls when his team was chasing 126 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

His unbeaten 54 helped Rajasthan cobble up a six-wicket victory in the away match.

Indeed, Riyan Parag is finally witnessing his breakout year in IPL after years of hard work and criticism.

Parag has been in and around IPL for six years now. In every season since 2019, he has got at least seven matches to play – he got more than 10 in three back-to-back seasons from 2020. That is a lot for a player whose average hovered around 18 and the strike rate was in the early 120s for the first five years.
