Six times world champion Mary Kom is now aiming for the sky. She is eyeing a historic seventh gold medal at the World Championships scheduled to take place at Ulan Ude in Russia from October 3 to 13.
She also revealed a new trick up her sleeve. Mary Kom said she will be using the technique ‘feint’ in an attempt to deceive her opponents and win the game.
While feinting, a boxer shows his/her opponent an intention to punch but ends up doing something else.
She is likely to face a tough challenge from China’s Chang Yuan, North Koreas’ Pang Chol-mi, and Colombia’s Ingrit Valencia during the tournament.
A 10-member strong Indian contingent will depart for the Worlds Championship early on 29th September. Mary Kom will present her challenge in the 51 kg weight category.
