Sutnga Saipung is one of the 60 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Meghalaya state in India.It is part of East Jaintia Hills district and is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes. It falls under Shillong Lok Sabha constituency and its current MLA is Shitlang Pale of Indian National Congress.
In 2018 the constituency had 37,959 electors.
Former Congress and current UDP MLA Shitlang Pale is the sitting MLA of Sutna Saipung constituency. He won the seat on a congress ticket by defeating Hopeful Bamon of the National People’s Party (NPP) with a margin of 1584 votes.
Shitlang Pale joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in November 2021. In 2023, Pale left TMC and joined the United Democratic Party (UDP) on January 15.
Shitlang Pale contested the 2013, 2008, 2003 and 1998 elections on a congress ticket and was a winner in 2008 and 2003 elections.
Shitlang Pale is again contesting the 2023 Assembly elections as a UDP candidate from Sutnga Saipung Assembly constituency.
