Dalu Legislative Assembly constituency is one of the 60 Legislative Assembly constituencies of Meghalaya. Dalu is a Town and Block in West Garo Hills district and is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes. There are a total of 198 villages in this block. The estimated population of Dalu in 2023 is 71,405. The village is famous for coal export in Northeast.
National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Brening A. Sangma is the sitting MLA of the constituency. He won the seat for the party in the 2018 Assembly elections with 4,092 votes by defeating then incumbent MLA of Congress and three-time Member of District Council (MDC) in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) Kenethson Sangma with a margin of 784 votes.
This time, Kenethson Sangma is contesting the election as United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate against Brening A. Sangma.
