ISRO Chief S Somanath accorded warm welcome onboard IndiGo flight, video goes viral; watch

The ‘Pragyan’ rover from the Chandrayaan-3 mission landed on the rugged, unexplored South Pole on August 23 marking a significant national triumph.

Much of the credit for the huge success goes to the chief of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) S Somanath and the brains behind India’s ambitious Moon mission. S Somanath and the ISRO scientists have been heaped with love and appreciation ever since their remarkable achievement.

The ISRO chief was given a warm greeting by the passengers and crew of Indigo in a beautiful video that was posted on social media recently.

With pride in her voice, the flight attendant welcomed S Somanath and urged other passengers to do the same for the “national hero.”

He received a loud round of applause from the other passengers and crew members after the words of appreciation. Some turned to look at the renowned scientist as well. A different flight attendant was seen giving him some small gifts and a note of appreciation, which he receives with a smile.

The video was shared by the flight attendant Pooja Shah on her
Instagram handle. She captioned it saying, “MR S SOMANATH – The chairman of ISRO. Felt privileged to get a chance to serve Mr S. Somanath on board our INDIGO flight. ”

”I’m glad to announce the presence of Mr S Somanath- the chairman of ISRO who boarded our flight today. A huge round of applause for Mr S Somanath and his team. We are proud to have you on board, sir. Thank you so much for making India proud,” said the air hostess.

One person commented on the video, saying, “That’s really sweet of you to welcome our Chairman sir. I appreciate you showing some affection to ISRO.”

Another person said, “Proud moment and you are really lucky to get an opportunity to meet him and to greet him.”

”Thank you so much to you..for showing recognition to real hero..India is evolving for sure,” another said.
