Former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee continues to be on ventilator support

Former West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee continued to be on ventilator support at Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata Sunday.
The CPI(M) veteran,79, was hospitalized on Saturday as his condition turned serious following respiratory distress and drop in saturation levels.
He is suffering from lower respiratory tract infection and he is suffering from Type-II respiratory failure, according to the medical bulletin.
As per report, he is yet to be out of danger as per doctors monitoring his health. The hospital, in a statement, said he is “haemodynamically stable” and chest CT scan is planned for Sunday noon.
Last night, Bhattacharjee has been kept on non-invasive ventilator support in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hospital after his oxygen saturation dropped.
A nine-member inter-disciplinary medical team has been formed, which is closely monitoring his treatment.
According to the medical bulletin, a multidisciplinary medical team, comprising Dr Kaushik Chakraborty (medicine), Dr Soutik Panda (critical care), Dr Susmita Debnath (critical care), Dr Saroj Mandal (interventional cardiology), Dr Ankan Bandyopadhyay (internal medicine and pulmonology), Dr Dhruba Bhattacharya (internal medicine and critical care), Dr Asis Patra (anesthesiology), Dr Somnath Maity (general medicine) and Dr Saptarshi Basu (physician and medical superintendent), is closely monitoring his progress.
