Singer Daler Mehndi’s 1.5 Acre Gurugram Farmhouse Sealed, Illegally Constructed, Say Authorities

Three illegally constructed farmhouses, including one belonging to Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi, located near Damdama lake at Sohna in Gurugram was sealed on November 29, said a senior official of the department of town and country planning (DTCP).

As per reports, District Town Planner (DTP) Amit Madholia said that these were unauthorised farmhouses in the reservoir area of the lake. He said these were illegally built in the Aravalli range.

In compliance with the NGT orders in the Sonya Gosh v. State of Haryana matter, the demolition-cum-sealing drive was conducted against three farmhouses with the help of police.

The sealing drive was conducted by a team led by DTP Madholia, including ATP Sumeet Malik, Dinesh Singh, Rohan and Shubham in the presence of duty magistrate Lachhiram, Naib Tehsildar, Sohna.

A police team was also deployed there led by Sadar Sohna Station House Officer (SHO).

Under the condition of anonymity, a senior department official confirmed that one of the three farmhouses belonged to singer Daler Mehndi. The farmhouse was built on nearly 1.5 acres of land.
