18-month old Mahira saves lives of many. Mahira happens to be third child in the last six months at AIIMS Trauma Centre to donate her organs.

18-month old Mahira may have bid adieu, but she will be still living in the hearts of many. Mahira who lost her life after falling from the balcony of her house in Mewat, has donated her organs to save many lives.

Mahira’s parents have decided to donate her liver to a six-year-old child which will be transplanted at ILBS Delhi. Both kidneys were transplanted to a 17-year-old patient at AIIMS. The cornea and heart valves were preserved for later use, doctors said.

Mahira fell from the balcony of her house in Mewat, Nooh in Haryana on November 6 and was brought to AIIMS Trauma Centre, Delhi in an unconscious state with severe brain damage.

She was declared brain-dead on the morning of November 11.
