Russia has stepped up its attack in recent weeks, mainly targeting energy infrastructures and residential buildings.

Russian-launched “kamikaze drones” attacked Kyiv early Monday, the Ukrainian presidency said, describing the strikes as an act of desperation nearly eight months into a war that has claimed thousands of lives.

Russian forces attacked Ukraine’s capital Kyiv for the second time in a week. Forces from both countries were engaged in heavy fighting around two towns in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region and in the Kherson province in the south, which Russia said it had annexed last month.

As per the city’s Mayor, several residential buildings have been damaged after the drone attack from Russia. A fire too broke out in a non-residential building in Kyiv.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy said that the fight that broke out in the Bakhmut and Soledar region, lying in the north of Bakhmut was intense, with Russian forces throwing everyone they could against the Ukrainian forces including criminals and mercenaries.
