BCCI president Roger Binny and General Secretary Jay Shah are also expected to visit
After the disheartening loss in the Men’s Cricket World Cup final to Australia, it is time for redemption for the Men In Blue, who will be looking to dominate the mighty Aussies in the ongoing T20 International 5-match series.
While, it was a nail biting win for Team India in the opening encounter of the T20 series, all eyes are now set on the crucial encounter to be played at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati on November 28.
Hectic preparations are underway at the sports facility so that both the teams have the oppurtunity to perform their best under the finest conditions, be it the pitch, or the ourfield.
Hence, the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the sporting event is hosted successfully. BCCI president Roger Binny and Secretary Jay Shah are also expected to visit.
To know more about the preparations, Northeast Live spoke to BCCI Joint Secretary Devajit Saikia.
The BCCI official said, “So far as ACA is concerned, they are doing everything to make the match a huge success. Honourable CM of Assam (Himanta Biswa Samra) has instructed the line departments to take necessary steps, so that the whole area gets a proper facelift. We are cleaning the whole area, including the roadlines etc and also the lighting system in the peripheral areas. This has been done to ensure that people do not have any problem who are expected to turn out in huge numbers. Everybody is working day and night and I am sure that this will be a very good match. ACA is doing very hard work. There will good facilities for food and water supplies. We are getting a very good response, out of the 37000 tickets available for the spectators, 25000 have already been sold. There are 3 more days to go, I hope it will be a full house on November 28. People will get to see a very entertaining match. All the departments doing hard work.”
Both the teams will be arriving on November 27 evening.
India is presently leading the series 1-0. The second T20 International match will be held in Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow (November 26). However, initial reports suggest that the second match might be washed due to inclement weather.
